Why is Seniors Housing Important?
Across Canada, there is a shortage in supply of seniors housing. By 2026, more than 2.4 million Canadians aged 65 and older will need the “supportive care” offered by retirement homes, including monitoring of medication, regular housekeeping, meal preparation and other services. Why Seniors Housing in Burlington?
We found that within 5km of our proposed site, there are 11,548 people aged 70 years or older. However, there are only 597 senior living suites serving the community. In 8 years, the lack of housing options for seniors will grow worse, as the aging population rapidly rises.
Furthermore, there are no retirement communities providing dedicated secure Memory Care. We believe that our location provides the optimum site for senior living, with ease of access to Downtown Burlington, the waterfront, Joseph Brant Hospital and other local amenities.
